art therapy

Towards the world digital painting by Tomas Karkalas

While looking at the artwork, I am not used to talk, but listen at the canvas and thus recall the miracles I have experienced once… once upon a time I was asked, what do I think about this?

The new picture comes out each time I open my lips in reply, yet the message remains the same:  Thank you for the question.  Your interest in my opinion helped me greatly to remind the eternal values and thus to awake, to put on my smile again.  I think that is just magical art therapy.  What could be better than that? What do you think?  Is the recognition of oneself amidst the friends not the best support?

  1. Indeed yes..Recognising oneself goes a long way in any form of therapy.. but not necessarily, “amidst friends”, as you pointed out. The self is so varied and intricately layered that finding the dominant YOU within you is quite a task in itself… Art sometimes loosens up these layers and simplifies all the intricacies and acts as the perfect mirror reflecting the real us..
    Thus, the therauptic action…

  8. This painting reminds me so much of Kandinsky, but your art has more form and is more representative. I love the colours, indeed your work is very relaxing. I remember once looking at a Rothko at the Tate and wanting to cry; is this a type of therapy you refer to?
